For 65 years, Camp Algonquin has been providing exciting, fun and adventurous camping experiences for youth.

Professional Staff
The success of Camp Algonquin is our quality staff. Our director and counselors are carefully selected for their maturity and desire to be excellent role models. They possess enthusiasm, leadership, patience, sound judgment and decision making skills, which are crucial to every child's healthy development. Each staff member receives a minimum of 144 hours of training before the season begins.

Modern Yet Rustic Facilities
Our camp is a picture of "awe." Seven state-of-the-art cabins serve as a base for each group and an "all seasons" lodge with health facility, which provides dining comforts as well as shower facilities. Parents are encouraged to visit Camp Algonquin at any time for a tour of our 40 plus acres.

Safety
The health and safety of our campers is our number one priority. All our staff is trained in CPR and trained lifeguards are on duty during all waterfront activities. Camp is also has a certified health officer on site and works under the direction of the camp doctor in Hastings.

Accreditation
Camp Algonquin is licensed annually by the Michigan Department of Human Services and the Barry County Health Department. Rules for acceptance and participation are the same for everyone regardless of age, sex, color, race, handicap, religion, or national origin. Camp Algonquin is owned and operated by the YMCA of Barry County, a United Way affiliated agency. The YMCA focus is on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
